Hurricane-Resistant Automatic Sliding Door

Until recently, designers seeking hurricane-rated doors were limited in the size of the door openings they could create. The ASSA ABLOY Resilience R128 hurricane-resistant automatic sliding door is available with medium stile door panels, 10” bottom rails, an innovative dry glazing system, up to 114 psf design pressure for full impact packages, and in heights all the way up to 128”. When LPA Design Studios designed the San Bernardino Center for Global Innovation at Cal State, they were aware of the incredible winds that ran through the valley. The team selected these sliding doors so that students and staff could continue lessons as usual, even while the Santa Ana winds blow.
