Building on the technology that helped it earn a win in the prototype phase of the DOE’s L-Prize competition, Signify introduced its Ledalite Bloombox, an indoor LED troffer.
Designed with office, education, healthcare and other commercial applications in mind, the recessed lighting luminaire incorporates a “housing-agnostic lighting module” that follows circular design principles. The field-replaceable LED tray and optics extend the luminaire operating life. Circular design features include a replaceable lighting module and click-and-clamp assembly. Luminaire prediction modeling and lumen maintenance testing performed for the L-Prize competition predicts a 20-year luminaire lifetime based on 12 hours of use per day.
Signify’s Interact connected lighting software and sensors provide automatic lighting adjustments in response to occupancy cues and daylight detection. Tunable lighting scenes and uniform light distribution with low glare can help improve occupant comfort.
Design characteristics include:
- Efficacy of up to 170 lumens per watt.
- Color rendering index greater than 93.
- Unified glare rating less than 19.
- Luminaire spacing up to 14 x 14 feet on center.
Signify will discuss the research behind the Ledalite BloomBox’s design during a virtual panel discussion, “Designing Lighting to Enable Workplace Equity and Performance,” at LEDucation on March 15.
