Louis Poulsen appoints Carly Conelli as CEO, US and Canada

The lifestyle and retail executive will lead the Danish lighting manufacturer’s new business structure in top priority markets.

Global architectural and decorative lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen named Carly Conelli as its CEO for the United States and Canada on Jan. 23. Conelli will be “responsible for wholesale partners and will work closely with the Louis Poulsen sales team in North America and Denmark on a growth plan for the U.S. and Canada,” which are the top priority markets for the Copenhagen, Denmark–headquartered company, according to its press release.

Conelli, a lifestyle and retail executive, brings experience in luxury home and design brands, including Roll & Hill, Aerin, Ralph Lauren, and Caro Home. She has “in-depth knowledge of both wholesale and retail business structures and a proven track record for creating and implementing key strategic programs and propelling businesses forward,” the press release states.

Conelli will lead a newly established Louis Poulsen head office in New York that focuses on the company’s B2C business. Florida-based Neo Architectural Lighting is overseeing Louis Poulsen’s B2B market, according to an Oct. 5, 2022, memo published in Designing Lighting. Neo Architectural Lighting was founded by Kent Pedersen, Louis Poulsen’s immediate past president and CEO for the U.S., and Amir Bagherlee, a former vice president.

Louis Poulsen’s new company structure went into effect Jan. 1, 2023, when Neo Architectural Lighting became the exclusive North America distributor of Louis Poulsen outdoor and architectural lighting products.

“We see an incredible potential in the U.S. and Canada, and we’re excited to bring Carly Conelli in to ensure continued growth,” said Louis Poulsen chief sales officer Tommy Rothoff in the press release. “We believe that the new structure will propel all categories in the market and give our partners the best support possible.”
