Pharos Architectural Controls names Simon Hicks as CEO
On Jan. 12, Pharos Architectural Controls announced Simon Hicks will serve as the company’s new CEO, replacing company co-founder Chris Hunt, who will continue to serve as chief financial officer. Hicks has 20 years of experience in the lighting controls sector, several of which were spent at the London-based Pharos, according to the company’s press release. He led the development of Pharos Cloud when the remote control and management product was under the SixEye brand; he has also held multiple executive positions on the Pharos board, first as technical director in 2012 and more recently as product and marketing director.
In the press release, Hunt praised his successor: “Simon is the right person to be leading Pharos into its next phase of growth. He has been at the center of our product innovation and development for many years now, resulting in the expansion of the company’s product portfolio, which now includes our new Expert range, our rebranded Designer range, and our remote management solution—Cloud.”
Speaking about his appointment, Simon Hicks said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve as CEO of Pharos and I'm looking forward to working with our fantastic team and supporting our customers as we execute on our ambitious growth strategy over the next three years. I'm very proud of what we've achieved so far, and the new Expert range is a great example of the innovation and teamwork within Pharos that remains strong to this day.”
Founded in 2004 as part of the Carrallon group, Pharos designs and manufactures lighting control solutions that oversee the illumination of architecture, cityscapes, landscapes, theme parks, airports, stadiums, installations, bridges, and other destinations, including Niagara Falls. Its flagship product was the award-winning Lighting Playback Controller, now known as Pharos Designer.
