GVA Lighting adds Dubai office to strengthen presence in the Middle East
GVA Lighting opened an office in Dubai to support construction projects in the Middle East and Gulf region. Joelle Madi, an architect with nearly 20 years of experience with lighting design, will manage the new office.
“As significant construction projects have recently been announced in the Middle East region, including entire districts in various Saudi Arabian cities, as well as bridges and skyscrapers, GVA Lighting holds significant potential to be specified (if not already) for enhancing and showcasing them as landmarks,” Madi said. She pointed to Mashreq Bank headquarters in the Burj Khalifa area of downtown Dubai, a project where GVA’s STR9 color-changing fixtures were used to accentuate the architecture.
Madi will call upon her architectural lighting experience to pursue and win new business. “I believe that light constitutes the ‘fourth’ dimension of architecture, rendering a space perceptible even when it remains invisible within the light path. This is the source of its remarkable power and beauty.”
Lighting designers, consultants and distributors seeking help in specifying products can expect local support from the team in Dubai, Madi said. Services include samples for mock-ups before client approval, technical assistance and commissioning. The Dubai team also will work with its partners to meet project budget requirements.
GVA Lighting’s office in the Dubai Airport Freezone area positions it near offices for other lighting brands to streamline access for customers, consultants and collaborators, Madi noted.
