Making the jewelry sparkle in the renovated Tiffany & Co. flagship store was a key objective of the lighting design. “We needed to get to 300 footcandles on the jewelry so that it really pops,” says Noor Traboulsi, Senior Associate, Tillotson Design Associates, New York. In addition, the team needed to avoid glare. “We’re lighting glass cases, so we had to be very mindful of reflections. If anyone is going to be blinded, it better be by a diamond and not a light source.”
For the above case accent lights, Tillotson selected the LPA Lighting Series A-2183. These recessed adjustable LED accent lights come in both round and square apertures. Trimless openings provide a clean installation and finish. These LEDs have a high color rendering of 95 CRI and color temperature of 3000K and are available in polished chrome, perfect for a mirrored or silver ceiling.
