During the renovation of the historic façade of the Kanawha County Public Library, Reed Burkett Lighting Design (RBLD) was tasked with creating a delicate balance of brightness and shadow that would emphasize the façade elements. To highlight the incredible columns, the design team installed two RISE F170 luminaires at the base of each column plinth. “At the base of the columns, we positioned a pair of sources slightly forward and tangential to the column surfaces so they could illuminate the outside-facing surfaces. As you approach it, it almost gives the sense of a fully round column,” said Randy Burkett, Principal, RBLD.
This compact, exterior-rated LED luminaire delivers up to 4,350 lumens and is ideal for spot, accent, landscape, façade, and floodlight applications. Installed at the base of columns and perimeter pilasters, RISE F170 provides flicker-free dimming down to 5% input power and aiming adjustment of 180-degree tilt and 360-degree pan with MACRO lock design.
