KingZip Linea is a built up standing seam system that enables an architect to create technically perfect angular, convex, concave and tapered architectural forms in 2D geometric capability. This solution was selected by the architectural team at FJMT to create a complex roofing design for the Bunjil Palace, a $125 million multipurpose arts, civic, and community facility. “What the KingZip product offers is that it can form conical and curved surfaces very readily,” says John Perry, an associate partner with FJMT. “The sheet itself, which is essentially a U-shaped trough, can be tapered. Because it is relatively thin, you can ‘spring’ it, so you can get the curvature in the other direction.”
